Just got these guys last night from a reef auction site. They are under some bright actinics im sure but should look pretty good high up in my tank too.

They are not all rainbow though :( There are about 20-30 polyps of the really rainbow/tie die ones circled in black about 20 or so in red and about 50 circled in blue.

Thanks guys :)

When are you fraggin them?!? :D

LOL. I been asked a few times now. I think im going to separate the morphs from the rest of the colony and see what kind of babies are made and go from there. Unless the old lady says otherwise. My brother was sent to oakland for some specialty training with the army and is bringing me back some pretty nice stuff. Unfortunately he also told my fiance how much this nice stuff cost. :( Had a pretty interesting talk last night about some things shes been wanting to buy :worried:

hey aaron.........it's only just begun ! i just got married last year and had a baby this year. so you learn when to pick ur battles. you learn not to be an impulse buyer. you end up setting aside a bit of cash every week for your hobby. it's all give and take. also.........if you havent planned your honeymoon yet........ours was awesome....we went to jamaica. went scuba diving everyday. we got an awesome deal on our all inclusive resort and airfare. they are still running great deals 65% off. pm me or give me a call if ya want more info.

Sounds good Kevin, We were thinking Australia, Italy or Egypt., but weve got a year to decide. Saras great she doesnt mind me spending the money on the hobby but she does see it as an opportunity to spend my money too. lol

niceeeeee. boy you have your decission making cut out for ya! would love to see italy and see where my family lived........but i would love to dive the GBR !
tough one there!

yeah, she says the GBR wont be there for long which is a good selling point. But Italy is half the cost. LOL

The skirts are very very bright green thats really whats noticeable from farther away. Kinda hard to see the rainbow from real far since these are the smaller polyp zoas, but I have a shot from them that is a little farther, ill put it up. I will take a shot of it in my tank soon but i have no actinic lighting as my POS compact actinics are very dull.

Are there any rainbow polyps in the shaded areas? Did the seller tell you what lighting and how far underneath they were?

They look really nice!

A while back in my old 18 gallon rimless tank, I had a frag of deepwater melons get burned by powerbrites, and resulted in becoming rainbow.

These morphed zoos are also called "kaleidoscopes" and are very nice :)
