Just put first fish in QT. Is my "medicine cabinet" ok?

Got a bonded pair of Helfrichi firefish from DD. I'll be using ttm as prophylaxis against ich. I'm using two 10G tanks, separate PVC fittings for hides, separate air stones, separate ATOs, specimen transfer containers, siphon tube, etc. After TTM, I'll be using prazi-pro. I have prime if I need it for ammonia control during ttm.

I want to make sure I have all the needed "just in case" types meds on hand. I have:
Cupramine (and salifert copper test)
Formalin
Methylene blue
Minocycline
Erythromycin
Selcon and Zoe

Should this be enough to cover all my bases if worst comes to worst? Is there any reason to get a quinolone or a penicillin? Would it be worth getting metronidazole?

I also have 30g of mixed and aerated SW at 35ppt on hand at all times, along with 20g of RO/DI. I think I have all my bases covered, and I hope I don't have to use anything, but I want to make sure I didn't miss anything.

Sounds like you've got it all covered. I just got done running a foxface thru TT in a 10gal; 2 firefish should be a breeze. Hopefully, TT and Prazi is all you'll need.

I'd say your medicine cabinet is more than OK. Remember, many of those medications have a finite shelf life, and you're not likely to need them, so they very well my go to waste. My criteria for what to have around is
1) How quickly will the disease it treats kill my livestock? (Things like velvet and brook kill quickly, so copper and formalin are virtual necessities.)
2) How soon will it go bad?
3) How expensive is it?
4) How quickly can I get it?

The last one really depends where you live. If you have a good LFS close by, you can get by with a lot less. In a pinch, you can pay to have an online retailer fed-ex something to you, but then you're probably paying more for the extra shipping than you are for the drug.

What must have meds do you guys keep on hand for bacteria issues.?

I always keep Furan-2 on hand for emergencies. It's broad spectrum & cheap, so no big deal if I don't use it before it expires. I'm also a fan of erythromycin. It only treats gram positive, but that's what the majority of bacterial infections are. Treatable ones, anyway. From what I've read, the success rate in treating gram negative is low.

I don't -the antibiotics are readily available at most fish stores, so I can get them in short order if necessary.

I'm sure you know this, but the info isn't clear to me. Separate pvc, air stones, etc. ----great. But all of those need to be sterilized between transfers. Air stone and tubing are tough to sterilized and completely dry in 3 days and they're cheap. I just toss them, rather than trying to sterilized them.
