I think the only time your over stocked is when you cant keep up the water. JMO If the fish are not running into eachother I think your fine.

It's fine. If you don't already have one put a nice algae fuge online for some added nutrient export and do regular water changes. My 180 was much worse than that. compartively speaking my current tank is worse than that as well.

I think your fine also. Look back at the TOTM's and count the fish loads in those tanks. I did that to gauge my 210 stock list, I have a long way to go compared to some of them.
How do you like your Blue Throat? Male/Female? Has it kept it's color? What do you feed? It's on my list to get within the next few months (male).
Tony

Thanks for the reassurance guys & gals, I guess it isn't to bad but I'm not putting another thing in there :)

Hi Tony, the bluethroat is awesome! it is a full grown male around 7" or so. This guy will eat anything!! mysid, flake, pellets frozen etc... I have had him about 5 months and his color hasn't changed a bit. I have some pictures if you wish to take a peek.

Thanks Kevin,
Your aquascape is great in your tank, not the standard wall.
I've heard nothing but good things about the BT, he's definetly on the list. Yours looks great, I've read a few things about them loosing they're color but I would think that in those cases they got a female and not a male. Hard to sex when they're young?

Over 100 snails and 60 crabs :eek1:

Wow !

I think overstocked is either bad water quality, which is a lack of equipment or excessive aggression from fish because of a lack of territory.

I am just curious as to why 10 small crabs and 60 snails is too much for a 180 gallon reef? Not arguing, just new to this. I have been told a blue leg per gallon for maintenance is good.

What makes you say that?

That's 160 snails/hermits to 180 gallons, which is almost 1 per gallon. The old myth of 1 per gallon is Outdated. There's not enough food to go around.
