Just received haddoni anemone that was stuck in shipping for 48 hours

Let me start by saying this is my first carpet anemone. It was weather delayed yesterday and today but fedex still managed to deliver it today albeit rather late in the day. I wasn't sure what to expect due to the cold and being delayed. But I think it looks rather good with all things considered. I have cipro on hand need be, what do you guys think on its current condition?

My experience has always been that haddoni are pretty resilient. It still looks to have not expelled zooaxnthelle and it doesn't look the least bit like it's melting. I don't have much experience with quarantine on haddoni but being that they are sand dwelling nems my assumption would be that if it starts to open up and the mouth is closed it would be best to move it to a more comfortable environment (assuming that 1- the quarantine water came from that tank and 2- there are no other nems susceptible to infection in that tank). Again, I don't have much experience with quarantine of this species (however I have decent experience in acclimating/keeping them).

I only had the light on to take a couple pics and it has attached to the cup but that makes it hard to see its mouth lol

Edit: and yes I used water from the dt for the quarantine tank. How long do you think it should stay in their?

Be patient and see how he does next few days. I would treat if you start seeing a good amount of discharge in the water. Gaping mouth of course also treat. not bad at all for 48 hours in a bag. Cold weather probably helped slow things down.
 
The bag was full of "slime" and was extremely cloudy. I was expecting much worse when the box finally showered up. And I do believe you are right. I'm excited to see how the next few days go, hopefully it opens up nice tomorrow so I can get a look at its mouth. The way it's in the cup I can't see it at all
 
I started a cipro treatment it has had discharge from its mouth, also a wide gape and slightly deflated. I did a 100% water Chang e with dt water as soon as I did that it's mouth closed instantly. I added cipro and went lights out. He is much larger than the original photos probably 8-10" across
 
Came home Friday to the house stinking of dead fish and the anemone with its mouth 6" and guts and what nots hanging out
 
Maybe I should of started cipro as soon as it arrived since there was some discharge in the bag but it's hard to tell since it looked good after it was in the tank

Don't second guess it too much. The bacteria could have already been Cipro resistant.
