I have one... it's a very nice shrimp but it eats only starfish! I had to buy starfish ( chocolate star fish) once a month to feed that little shrimp.

Does anyone know if they will eat other stuff beside starfish?

I believe only specific starfish feet with sucker tubes...

I always wondered if it would be possible just to scrape all the asterina stars from everyones tank and collect them as food for these guys.

i had/have an asterina star outbreak in my home tank.. got a harlequin in september/october and its doing fine, seems to be getting a bit bigger and fatter (what my girlfriend says) and seems like the asterina population was minimally affected, which hopefully means that the harlequin's food will be sustainable.

my gf's favorite shrimp in the tank.. one of the cleaner's tried to stop by to bother it early on, almost lost an antennea to the harlequin. other than that everyone leaves it alone, and it even comes out in the daytime now to just hang out and wave hi..
