Just throwing it out there

Surprised you're still using cheato. You can always start using it again if you need to do so.

So I have been out of town for 7 days. Just checked my levels and my NO3 is between 1 and 2 ppm. My PO is up to .5 ppm. Thinking about running some x-phosphate again. I guess I should just let it go as that will encourage the growth of bacteria that will consume the PO. I'm sure it is from the reduced to dying cheato growth.

I did a water change. Not sure it needed it as the NO3 is right where I wanted it. So far I still give the pellets an a+.

Some people in the biopellet thread mentioned that they went up to stronger lighting with their chaeto once their nutrient levels dropped. This seemed to keep it alive with less nutrients in the water.

Thanks, that is a good suggestion. I guess I am thinking that I now have belts and suspenders. I probably don't need the Cheato. I removed some tonight we will see. If everything stays on coarse I'll remove some more.

Well this week something happened. I just ran my water tests and my NO3 is at 0 and my PO is as close as you can get to 0. I guess the bacteria for PO kicked in this week. No water change this week! :celeb1::celeb1::celeb1:

I upped my feeding another time for fish pellets and another 2 seconds for my Azoox mix. I'm now feeding 1/4 of a cup every hour.

Just to keep up on this, my levels are all still the same as last week inspite of the increase food. 0 nitrates and under .25 phosphates.

Great Thread!!

Just to make sure. You are feeding a 1/4 of pellets each hour??? How often?

Thanks!

Lol no. I'd be broke for sure feeding 1/4 cup of pellet food. No I feed a teaspoon of pellets twice a day and my liquid/powder food mix 1/4 cup every hour 24 hours a day. Thank you for you compliment.
