Just wondering about my zenia.

Does it matter if pulsing zenia doesn't pulse? My zenia are all open and flowing in the current.

That's fine if they don't pulse. Some do, some don't. One day you might come home, and they'll suddenly be pulsing.

If it's a pulsing variety, and it's not pulsing, I would look into my water parameters.

I second saltycreefer, anytime my xenia stop pulsing or start to shorten the first thing i do is check all parameters.

If your Xenia receives a good amount of flow, it may not pulse. In our tank, our main stalk of Xenia that I cut frags off of gets plenty of flow and doesn't pulse. I keep the frags from it in a lower flow part of the tank and they pulse quite nicely.

I've always found that xenia pulsed more with a dKH of at least 10 or 11.

That is high ALK.. i should try it.... and see what happens

They tend to do this from time to time. Mine just started pulsing again. Water params are the first place I'd look.
