just wondering who the new people are

While we're mentioning a multi-group event, can we count SDIRB in?

We've have quite a mass of members between the three groups. I believe there's a 4th group in the triangle that is central IL. That'd be quite a meeting folks.

I don't think it's reached the point of all standing or falling together :D

I would like to see a multi club event to bring everyone together. It would be great to get all the local clubs together. As we all know none of this online BS carries over in person.

I dunno....have you met some of these guys?? They can be pretty full of BS ;)

I say we get to planning on a Central IL club event. IMO it'd be pretty awesome.

I've pretty much met everyone on these forums at one time or another.

I agree on the huge meet.

I don`t want to be a naysayer- and I intend these thoughts to be in the most positive way- But until the clubs in question begin to have regular meetings, any single club should just pony up and have a meeting and everybody can come to it. CIMA has had like 2 meetings this year, I think CURC has had one, I have no idea what BNARC and Spfld/Decat has done. As has always been said by all clubs, everyone is welcome to all meetings. Fact also remains that some folks are in all three clubs! This again makes a multi club meeting little more than banners.

It could be on a rotating monthly schedule where the local club puts it on or everyone could meet in De Witt since seems to be equidistant to B/N, C-U and Decatur.

Actually, Decatur is probably the most central. Don't foget the Springfield folks :)

SDIRB has held scheduled meetings every month since March. Numbers have been way down this summer though. Hopefully things pick up during the fall again.

BNARC has monthly meetings. The schedule is in the meeting and events fourm on bnarc.com. If anyone can come to our meetings. We have a meeting every month. We had an issue with July because our host is pregnant and could not have the meeting.

I would just say that the event I was talking about has nothing to do with monthly meetings. We try to have a "family event" every quarter. I just wanted a PM from other clubs if interested. I think that would be the way to go since anyone can come to our monthy meetings.

If the other clubs would like to get on track before having a multi club event. I am not talking about a meeting I am saying we all go and do something together, we did a bowling outing that worked out well the club supplied the Pizza.

I am not sure what everyone would want to do that is why I asked for a PM to discuss. I have not gotten the first one yet. I guess that tells me that no one is interested.

The intent was not to rotate meetings, it was to have an event for all clubs to participate. We already have monthly meetings.

PM's work both ways and you know who to contact if you really want this to happen. I'm not sure why you would try to make this a public issue? Ona thread discussing banning people especially? Did you post this request in the CUR forum? Or the SDIRB forum?

So if all the hobbyists of Central Illinois got together, would that make it a CIMA meeting? :0 ;)

I have already been on contact with certain individuals about future direction. As time allows and issues resolve themselves, additional issues will be tackled. At some point a "joint" meeting can be discussed, but I'd like to not put the horse before the cart.

Until then I think we can all do fine by participating in whichever meetings are convenient for us to attend, whether they be CIMA, BNARC, or whomever.

Well said Henry.

Thanks for the replys. This tells me everything I need to know. This was my last effort.

Brad, as a moderator on RC I try to stay out of the local politics, but it seems to me that encouraging everyone to attend whatever meetings are convenient for them (regardless of club affiliation) seems to be a reasonable suggestion. Maybe I am just out of the loop.

If you had read my other post I have invited everyone in the area to BNARC meetings. This has been the standard since the club began. There have been many people that have come that are affiliated with other clubs.
