Juvi Chevron Tang

I've only had one (still have him) and he began changing around 3" (within a year of purchase).

The adult coloration and patterns are spectacular just not bright orange-red.

Peaceful fish.

Mine is about 4" and still has Juvi colors for the most part. I reckon this time next year it will have its adult colors though.

Had it for about 8 months. Has grown about an inch in that time. Buddy of mine has had many and they typically change between 4 and 5 inches. Adult colors are nice too though.

Do you have it in the 265?

No, it's in my 90 gallon 'grow out' tank. I'm nervous about putting it into the 265 and getting beaten up by the resident tangs that are a mean and disagreeable bunch. Maybe it's big enough, and eating well enough, to take the plunge.

This is my third one and my fastest grower, It took him less than a year to lose his juvenile colors. He was darker as a juvey, and is darker as an adult. My first one took forever to lose his juvenile colors and I had him for close to 8 years only losing him to not properly QT another fish. My second one got super mean when becoming an adult, I found someone who had an aggressive tank. This one so far is doing okay. I think the food we have today versus ten years ago is so much better.

Mine looks like post #11 and I've had him for 1.5 years. It's about 4" and beautiful but brown in color with gorgeous markings. He's been in a DIY 178 gallon the whole time and doesn't seem to need the space my powder blue requires. Much less active.

Beautiful fish.

Not to hijack, but what is that orange and purple fish (front left corner) in the pic alton posted? It looks like a CBB with purple stripes.

It is a mixture of 14K LED and 6' VHO true actinic lamp and IPhone camera phone. One day I might buy a good camera. It looks more normal when MH is on (sorry about the hijack also)
