Juvie Mombassa!

This is a little guy I'm growing out and training for someone else. He's so cute, with a standard length of 2.5".

Right now he has a belly full of ghostshrimp and is actively swimming around.

I'm a little jealous, not going to lie. I just got a fuzzy today, a lot smaller than I originally was thinking it was going to be, about 1 3/4" but super cute.

I love them at that age.... it can be a little hard to wean them if you can't find live food small enough. But the payoff of growing them up is worth it.

Not to mention the "awwwwww" factor...tiny lionfish are simply super cute! When you raise them up from that age, they become "special".

Sweet!! Nothing cooler than a baby lion. The mombassa has become my second favorite lionfish (you just can't beat a fuzzy). I was planning on having maybe two or three different species in my 220 but after having my 6" mombassa in there for a while now I think I just want two more. I like the ones on DD but I can get them for $50 at my lfs. Definitely a super fish!!

I've been tempted by the ones on DD lately, as well as the antennata they had up yesterday. I really want to get a goatfish as my last fish, but those lions have been making me have second thoughts.
