should i get a carpet anemone???
i have 2 ocellaris clownfish and 2 black ones as well

i have read that the carpet is most likely to be hosted by the clownfish that i have and not the rose anemone

is it almost guaranteed that they will host the carpet anemone?

nothing is gauranteed.

Do you know if your orange/BW ocellaris are tank raised or wild caught? Most likely they will host with some training (after your anemone is acclimated thou).

For what its worth my 2 Black Ocellaris were hosted by my carpet in 6 days. Both are very uh hostey.. :) But only 1 is in the carpet it won't let anyone else near it.

Haddoni carpet also known to eat Ocellaris or Percula clowns. They are not the natural host of Ocellaris, and is a very sticky fish eater

What kind of "training" are you talking about?

i think they are all tank raised,

the guy with the black clowns, are they a pair??? but only one hosts the anemone??

as of right now all 4 clowns swim together and at night sleep together, and am hoping that if i do decide to get the carpet that all 4 can host it

It's easy, put them into enclosed space with the anemone and let them touch it. Usually takes a week or less to get them have a 'feel' for the anemone. However this is usually much more stressful for the anemone than the fish, so not recommended for newly arrival anemones.

Yes my clowns are a pair.. Well I bought them as a pair anyways. I wouldnt say they were bonded.. The smaller one is being hosted by the anemone and the bigger one wants in but the small one won't let it. Its a constant battle every day all day. I would not put 4 clowns in a confined space with a haddoni... You may end up with 3 clowns :)

Hardier no not at all. I don't have any first hand experience with BTA's. From what I understand I would say a BTA would be hardier.

Are you guys saying that carpets are hardier than BTAs?

Definitely NOT. BTA are ultra hardy especially ones that lived in the tank for awhile or splitted in tank, they can survive thru worst situations even cycling (not recommending you to do so). Haddoni carpets on the other hand, I have very poor survival rate with them (even purchased healthy).

Good luck

Oh, okay thanks. I was surprised nobody mentioned that given the fact that the OP's tank has been stated to be at most 3 months old. :lmao:

OP? You mentioned the age of the tank...

I asked OP at the beginning, when the sig. said "less than a month" and this was OP's response:
