Kalk/Lime question

I've been using simple 2 liter coke bottles to drip my kalk from in my little tank.Thing is after 2 or 3 batches bottle starts leaking as I guess the lime eats through the thin plastic bottle. My question is what can i use thats about the same size and easy to get ahold of.

Kent sells some sm dosers used for your needs. Also the containers Reborn reactor media comes in are great, Just drill a hole and add a small valve for dripping and your set.

well I thought about that but seeing as everything thats in there now will be moving into the 125 in the next month or 2 I dont wanna end up having something I wont use

I use IV drip bags for dosing everything when I had my 55. I am not sure where you can get them locally, but they have always worked for me. I just run RO water through them each time the bag runs out to keep it from clogging between refills.

If you want a bigger model, Kitty litter containers are great for large systems. Use a Valve from a water jug from LFS and you have the perfect set up.

Hmm I might just have a kitty litter jug seems a bit thicker or maybe I can "borrow" a container from the wifes kitchen heh

does the mixture need to be enclosed so no air gets in or can it be open top? I always thought it had to be sealed

I am not sure myself, I am sure Bill knows. I have the feeding tube bags that have a screw on top to them, so mine have always been closed.

reason I ask is I found a pitcher that will work for size just has a flip top and dont wanna have to drill a hole when I can just run some tubing doen the hole

any food container will work like vinegar bottle. That's what I use for my nano.

so it doesnt need to be closed off from air?

Closed is better as it doesn't degrade like in the open air, Plus it's better to put a valve just up off the bottom so you don't dose the settled impurity's and you want to avoid adding the scum layer on top FYI
