kalk reactor or just mix per batch

65g Ritteri Tank
I wanna run kalk from now on. Is a kalk reactor really worth it? If I do go reactor route..i like the octopus 100 model, internal stirrer and uses RO lines for effluent rather than a 1/2 outlet. I run an osmolator so it would be easy to hook up.

Currently my reservoir is 15g of RODI water that I mix 4 oz. of kalk mix with a powerhead and let it settle and walk away. I think the 15g will last me around 7 days..maybe longer.

Is it a lot easier to use a kalk reactor? or is it just about the same maintenance?

I have tried reactors in the past, and found a reservoir is the way to go if you have the room for it.

Lol: bucket. Big stick. Costs 380.00 less and works better, because it never breaks. I had a reactor, 2 stirrers, and sincerely regretted it. You only need to stir kalk once, and keep a lid on it. Whole deal is very simple. You could even mix it in a pitcher if you were doing pour-in nano topoff.

my 4 gallon dripper is maint free , works perfect

Thats what I figured..I didnt know if i was missing something not having a kalk reactor. I'm just gunna mix it up whenever I have to refill my top off.

The kalk that settles to the bottom...is this still good kalk to mix up when I fill the reservoir again...or do I need to wash it out and mix up a fresh batch.

NOOOOO thats good kalk.. i always use to reuse mine up to 3 batches then rinsed it out n put new kalk in.. then i added a small powerhead inside my container with kalk in it one day so it circulates the water so no kalk buildup on the bottom anymore!
