kalk stirrer

Hi Guys,

Dunno if I am posting this in the right forum, but anyway..........

I intend in the future to have both a kalk stirrer and calcium reactor. for the time being however, I cannot afford the calcium reactor. So, will using a kalk stirrer help, in general?

I already have the RO and auto top off unit. So all I would need is the kalk stirrer. Is this going to benefit my system in a big way until I upgrade to include the calcium reactor (with monitor & controls) at a later date.

If you follow the bulk of the sage wisdom available here on RC, I think the answer is yes.

Particularly if you're not running a Ca Rx. I started topping off by hand with Kalk water, then went to a drip and then ATO with a stirrer. I think it really helps stabilize pH, Alk & Ca. I am only now setting up a Ca Rx but I have no plans to discontinue the Kalk all together, I may alter the times of the day the Kalk is added, but I don't see why I would stop.
