Kaserpick's Nano

Build looks like it is going great! Can't wait to see what the future brings with this one, keep the updates coming along! I am enjoying following this build a lot.

I really like the white PVC!

Sorry cannot add much other than things are looking clean and oh the possiblities.

I too love the style of your aquariums. A few questions if I may...

-How does the ATI blend in being a tad longer than the tank? It looks great in pictures, I like the conduit too!

-How loud is the overflow? Looks like you used a durso?

Looking forward to watching the tank come alive. Keep us posted with pics! :D

Thanks Johnny! In reference to your questions,

-I wondered how the ATI would look, but it turns out to be very appealing, still.

-The overflow itself is quite quiet (It'll still be replaced by a Glass Holes box, due to aesthetics); the drain at the bottom is a little loud though. :p I didn't have much water left in the sump once the tank filled, so I'm hoping a little more water will help with that. Thanks again! :)

very nice. Without some sort of hydraulic short throw bender there is no way to get the 90's that close together. :(... I was angry to when I found this out after a few times bending it...lol...I'll post you a pic tomorrow tho. it's really easy all you need is a hacksaw, a drill and a 3 dollar part from lowes.

Thanks! What if I used 1" conduit for the back part with one 90 and then made the other 90 and hanging part with 3/4"? I could then slip the 3/4" into the 1" and drill a couple holes to keep it from rotating. I just don't know how that would look.

Thank you very much, Luke! :)

I'm also building my nano right now! Wow yours really looks nice! Congrats!

Thanks Stephen! Do you happen to have a thread started? Post a link! :D

Very funny! :p The lock-line 90's will be here with a couple of days, and hopefully, by the end of the week, the overflow will arrive. Once those two things get here, it's bye-bye for the white PVC in the tank (and the durso pipe on the back)! I can't tell you how much that comment made me laugh, a good start for the day. :D

you might be able to do that I think it might be hard to keep the cross piece level because the 3/4 to 1 inch I don't think will be a tight fit.

Awesome, that looks great! I'll probably go to Home Depot today and snag the parts. Thanks for sharing; I really appreciate it!

Nice set up.

Thanks! :)

Tomorrow's Plans

Well, the LFS I typically like to buy from was closed today. So...no live rock. :mad2: But, tomorrow they're open! :p So, here's the plan:

1. Buy live rock
2. Plan aquascaping
3. Buy more conduit for light rack

Thanks for following! More to come...

Aquascaping:

Here's a few shots of the rock work. I wanted to keep it simple; that's why I went with more of a column look. Once everything grows in, I'm hoping it'll be an attention getter. :p

I'm not a huge fan of the Flintstone's stacking look, but I'm hoping to have this thing so that you don't see much of the rock.

what skimmer do you plan on adding? I know you have had some really nice tanks, so what happened to those skimmers? jw! btw, good luck.

I'm not absolutely sure at the moment. :p I've sold my BK mini 180 and ER 135.

Looks good. are you going bare bottom??

Thanks! Yes, I'm definitely going bare bottom. I love the look of sand, but I'm not going to fight the flow issues I find with it. That might change in the future. :p

yeah but reef chief is sooooooooooo far away now lol-insanely nice but far

Yeah, no kidding! I'm still not sure if that was the best idea.

...and they're even not open from Monday to Wednesday. :p
