Kasey's 60g

Progressing well there matey. Just keep up the maintenance and hopefully balance will fall into place and the diatoms/Dinos should go away.

Thanks, Sahin! That's what I'm hoping for. I can tell that some corals aren't quite as happy as before, so I'm thinking that the better water quality will remedy that. Also, I cut back on feeding because of the issue. I'll start that up again, once I get the filters swapped out. I'm thinking whatever is fueling the bloom (silicates?) should become exhausted in time.

Glad that things are going strong and that you are feeling more comfortable with your system once again.

Thanks, Mike! Seeing the corals actually grow has given me some bearing.

I love that top down without tank lights on! Great tank, cool idea to have one island in a large space.

Top-down's, without lights, are usually some of my favorites, so natural. Thanks!

Yeah, that's a good call. For now, I think I'll just wait it out. It's not that bad really. It takes it two weeks to get on the heavy side.

Pure laziness has kept me from installing them into the light fixture. :p

I'm a little afraid to rock the boat. They seem to be enjoying the T5's.

Few, went through the thread. What a blast to be able to cap all the ventures that you went through with the tank.

That tort growth is crazy from the first pic posted.
Keep us posted please.

I hear ya :) What kind of T5's?

ATI coral+, Purple+, and 2x Blue+

Thanks Tilo!

The bubble algae is getting kinda crazy, so I'm planning on pulling everything and cleaning it off of the rocks during a water change. I'll post some picks of it. The Dino's seem to be slowing down since I've changed the filters on my RO/DI unit, so that's good. I need to really pay more attention to my parameters. Life's been busy, and this has been on the back burner.

So, I spent a good chunk of yesterday cleaning and giving the tank some much needed attention. I removed a ton of bubble algae. Here's a pic:

During the cleaning, I inadvertently fragged my Red Planet, twice. That was a little sad, considering that it took forever to get the thing to grow. I remounted the two pieces in a different location.

Today, I'll take some pics. I re-aquascaped...not sure how I feel about it.

So you added some salt and pepper to that and had seaweed noodle soup? :D J/k.

Thats a lot of bubble algae. I've always had good success with using an Emerald crab or two to take care of it.

Look forward to the rescaped FTS. :)

Thanks, Sahin! Yeah, I needed to get my veggies somehow. :p

Here's the pics if the rescape:

Hopefully thinks will look good as they grow.

New scape looks nicer! Looks a lot more opened up too. Now we need some top down shots with a proper camera...not bluey Iphone pics :D

Haha, too true, Sahin! I want to break out the camera and take some shots with the Blue Plus's off. Top-downs are definitely in order. Thanks for the kind words! The scape is growing on me. I'm hoping my red planet will fill in the middle section nicely.

Ok, so these are iPhone pics. I have no way of getting my pictures from my camera to Photobucket, because my computer is down. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy them. They are extremely close to the true colors.

Sweet corals man. Very nice colour on them too! What are you feeding the tank in terms of fish/coral food?
