Kasey's 60g

Thanks, Perry! I hope so too. :)

I'm getting ready to do a 10g water change this morning. I also found out that two of my Emerald crabs have taken a liking to some of mg corals. That's annoying since I bought them to get rid of the bubble algae. There's still some left too. :p

I'll post pics after things are done. I think I'll be fragging some things, due to some tissue recession. While I'm in there, I'd like to move some rock to the sump, to open things up a bit. I'd also like to add sand, but I'm wondering if I shouldn't do that, until my nutrients are under control.

Everyone's kind words really have been a great boost for me to keep on going. Hopefully, I can pass that on by turning this around, showing others in the same spot that it can be done (hopefully. :))

Thanks for the support!

I am jealous that your Nitrate color actually matches the card. Maybe I need to take a picture of mine in order to get a good reading? I think your tank looks fine, and ready for a recovery.

As long as you have to look through the test vial sideways to see any pink tint you are in the right place or close to it mark.

Matt is right Kasey, the minute you see the hint of pigments returning you'll lose your mind again and join the rest of us in the SPS loony bin........

Thanks Mark. I certainly hope it's ready for a recovery. :)

Thanks for the encouragement, Biggles. I'm hoping that moment happens soon. :p

I worked on the tank for quite a while, yesterday. I removed some bubble algae, emerald crabs, and dead coral. It was a bit sad, but I'm already enjoying the tank more, now that things are clean. I also dosed a vial of Bioptum and Bio Digest, after performing a 10g water change. Nitrates seem to be lowering. I believe I'll start dosing MB7, 6 drops a day and monitor how things look and the nutrient levels. I need to get a base again.

Wow, sorry to see this Kasey! You'll get it back looking great soon! Just curious, how long did you have the halides over this 29g before you switched to LED's? My new tank will be setup with two Orphek LED pendants, so it's definitely new territory for me :)

The 29g never had the 250w halide, until after I removed the LED's. I used T5's before the LED's for about 8 months, if I had to guess. (That goes back to before I moved everything to the 29g).

Took another pic of my nitrate reading:

Not trying to chase numbers, but they need to keep going down. The PE and overall appearance of the corals look better, already. Plus, the glass in clean, so the tank itself looks nicer, which may account for the better appearance. I'm starting to get the big again. Just gonna keep working on things slowly. Thanks for the encouragement everyone!
