Kdoc's 210g Reef Tank

Lol thanks, Its an imperator angelfish (aka Emperor Angel). Unfortunately I dont have one anymore (started eating my corals)

I really like angels, I wish they didn't have that little coral eating problem. I would like to set up a tank for one, but it is hard to rationalize setting up that large of a tank and no coral...

I know I agree. I am hoping some day that someone will sell in the livestock section here an Angel that had been kept in a reef tank with no problems. That is very rare though

That's too bad that it eats corals. It's one of the sickest fish i've ever seen. :(

Yeah it is by far my favorite fish. Next would probably be Sleeper Gobies (lol people are going to think im crazy)

I just got 2 of them in my 210g yesterday and they are awesome. They are PITCH white with neon blue dots on their face. They sift the sand and they are just awesome. I think EVERY tank should have a sleeper goby.

lol fortunate for my, my tank is 30" deep :)
I had a diamond watchman gobie (But I think it was a sleeper) that had died. I had no clue why... params. were fine. I think he may have choked one something.

The New Guys :)

I didn't realize the 210 was 30 inches wide, well that would make sence being as its 6 foot... Hmm... Maybe I should have looked into the 210 a little more. I wonder if it would be more difficult to move then a 240 becaue of the hieght. Interesting thoughts. I havn't read the entire thread, so I apologize if it has already been discussed but how are you filtering?

Its actaully 72" long, 24" wide, and 28" deep.

I REALLY wish the depth and width were swapped so it would be 72x28x24... Its a PAIN trying to reach the bottom of the tank, especially since my arm gets this weird rash from the saltwater.

But on the good side, the 24" width fits perfectly in the corner of my living room and doesnt stick out past one of our bedroom doors.

As far as filtering, I've got a 36 gallon sump, Phosban Reactor and a Euro-Reef RS180 (We couldnt get an RS250 beecause it wouldnt fit in the sump/stand). The Euro-reef works like a charm.

Dont hesitate to ask any questions or give comments, I enjoy talking on this thread, which is rarely active.

No refug at all? Have you posted any pictures of you sum at all?
How often do you do water changes? And yeah, you gotta watch out for that salt, I just wash right after i'm done.

Yeah I always wash my arms after working in the tank.

No I dont have a refug. But I do have about 1 gallon bag's worth of chaeto and a mini halogen lamp down there.

I'll go graba shot of the sump right now

I have the halogen hooked up to my moonlight timers. So its on for about 10 hours. It's also one of those energy saver bulbs

Heres the sump.
To the right is the Auto Top Off (so happy I got that)
The cheato is to the left of the skimmer underneath the light

It's on 24/7 with phosban media (Granular Ferric Oxide)

Yeah every once in a while I scrub out the algae and junk in the sump.

I'm also dosing Limewater with my auto top off that I have in the bin to the right.

I forgot to answer your water change question. I normally do water changes around every 1.5-2 months (yes people get mad for such late water changes).

I just want to get this Zoa colony return dealt with (I'm also trying to sell it). Once thats done with, I can frag up some zoas, kenya trees, and Green Star Polyps and sell them locally). That'll let me clean up the Display a bit (I kind of regret buying all those frags, but lesson learned).

Once things get clean up, I'm gonna start searching for some nice soft corals/leathers and fill up the left side of the tank (maybe move my frogspawns elsewhere)
