Kdoc's 210g Reef Tank

zoas=zoanthids

It was the last picture I posted on page 7.
I just got it yesterday from an online store. It is really different than I thought it was and am trying to return it/sell it to someone locally. (It was pretty expensive).

Oh, lol yeah I gotcha, I just sharp like that... yeah, i'm afraid to buy online. You should try to get a part-time at a petstore/fish shop. Thats how you get some amazing deals, I used to get a lot of free stuff until they took the fish department out of the petstore I work at.

wow free stuff?? you definitely dont work in Connecticut then ;)
Yeah I belong to a Reef club so I got 10-20% off of most fish stores in CT.

I usually buy EVERYTHING online.. I've had really good luck and experiences buying online. This one time has just been a bit of a mix up. I'm trying to make a choice of what to do with the zoa colony. I can either keep it, and sell the whole colony, keep it and sell frags here and there, or return it and get some nicer stuff.

well if you will get all your investment in it back in the return, just return it and get the better stuff. If it is not perfect it will always bother you. It will bother you if your not completly content with it, and if it cost a lot of money. What you are experienceing is called congitive disonance (I'm a horrible speller). If you can get your money out of it locally, upgrade it.

Yeah people in Tucson seem to be fickle about tanks, they will get way into it, then just drop everything for a while and get back into it all over again.

I got a 125g set up on a mission stand and w/ canopy, coralife pc's, ehh skimmer, an oceanic sum, 150 to 200 lbs of liverock, and fully stocked (even a tang that is rare, i forget the name lol) for lke three or five hundred, i can't remember if it was three or five, but either way it was a steal.

I can't figure out how to put pictures up... I'm not very good with all this technolgoy stuff, lol.

but i think the fish is a "dussumier tang" thats what a fish guy down here told me. and t does look very much like the juv coloration. I hope it is, but i need to get a bigger tank set up if it is.

He is really awesome, he is very personable, and seems to be a good judge of character, lol. I say that becausehe would never come out of hidding when my ex-girlfrind would look in the tank, and she didn't turn out to be the most loyal or respectable person. But, he has the light color that you see in the juvi, but he will get very dark and flash a pattern that resembles a maze, in a blue color. it gets thicker and more pronounced near his tail. He will take food from the hand and can eat an entire sheet for nori (26grams) in a sitting then a cube of mysis and still pick up pellets flake, and my zenia...(which is all but gone now)

He is starting to get pretty big though, I need to get a bigger tank! I only have one more semester left in school, so ya know that entire growing up thing, I can see a lot of moving in the years to come... so I don't want to get glass, but I'm not a huge fan of the alternatives.

lol well good luck. What school do you go to?

And yeah, I have an atlantic blue tang. It's yellow with neon dark blue highlights on its fins and eyes. It looks awesome as an adult and turns completely blue all over.

I'm currently at the Universtiy of Arizona. I study Retailing and Cosumer Sciences, with a minor in business. I was working on a mnor in fish sciences (which I was creating myself), but with all the budget cuts the remaning classes I was planning on taking were cancelled.

I took a course in Aqua Culture, or fish farming that was very interesting.

It was considered Wildlife and Fisheries, which I think was part of the Vet sci department, something to do with convervation and range development. It was kinda of difficult to find.

Aww dang lol. I took Marine Biology and Oceanography courses in highschool (they were college level courses though). I to take something that involves fish and coral species itself though. I am majoring in business (Nothing specific yet), and I need to take some electives (I'm really ahead in my credits too).

We have to have an amout of "NATS" or natural sciences, and that is what I ended up using the credit for. It worked out nicely. We don't have a marine Biology classes or anything like that, it is a shame...

Business is fun. Arizona's program is a little crazy and couldn't stand one of the heads of the department I was originally in.

Wow lucky you. Yeah school is going good so far. I was going to take a summer class but was having trouble with Financial aid for summer courses so I had to drop it.

Lol you got it HumanIMDB

I'll post a FTS later on today, by tomorrow latest. I just took out my filter socks to clean them and the tank is a bit cloudy from the bubbles.

Not much has changed, maybe a few corals moved here and there... I gotta do something about the RPE on the top of my tank.. They're not looking to great. Maybe too much light? Its annoying because I have no place for the rock that it's attached to.

Ok I admit to a bit of photoshopping (in paint it though). I took multiple pictures and had to put them together like a puzzle.
