Kdoc's 210g Reef Tank

Yeah I like the idea of caves like the way my rockwork was at first, although I really like the open space in the new rockwork, and it also allows me more spots for corals. Once it fills in with corals I think i'll like it much better.

HA! Cant wait to post pictures of the INSANE corals I just bought from Mrcorals.com (60% off sale! AND 1 free ric for every 50$ purchase)

Haha, lol, subscribing sounds good :D!

So... Where are these pictures!? ;) :p :D

Where are the pictures??? I just ordered the corals lol.
I bought them last night to get the good ones before anyone else could, and I'm going to buy some more today to combine the order and get free shipping. Mrcorals has some pretty cool stuff. You can search them on E.bay too. They have an awesome coral called Kiwi Blue or something. That one is cool lookin

Aww well my Fire and Ice Yuma Ricordea that I bought was "not healthy enough" to be shipped so I was refunded and I'm just replacing it with some zoas.

Cant wait to get all my zoas in!!!! I'm way too excited lol.

I also moved some frags off my sandbed today, and onto the flat rock to the left. I also got my package from BRS today with my frag rack. That is going to help me keep a nice clear sand bed. I have to say, a nice, clean, and clear sand bed looks AWESOME. I love having the tank nice an open and not looking so cluttered with a bunch of frag disks.

I couldn't agree with you more. I think a lot of people's tanks would look even nicer if they left their sand bed to be seen. I will say that I've seen a few sand beds covered in corals.. but their owners knew how to pull it off well!

Yeah I know what you mean. Well I'm going to be putting all those zoas i'm getting on the sand bed, starting from behind where the big GSP rock is right now and making its way up onto the live rock.

oh and an update on my RPE/Paly colony: After FW dipping it, it has completely shrunk in size. The RPE that are flush with the rock are looking great, but the "ballish" colony has shrunk alot. I didnt really like it anyways so I think im just gonna cut it off the rock and give it away as a freebie to someone (It has some RPE's in it too so im sure someone will take it)

HERES THE RBTA!!

HERES THE RBTA!!

It looks SOOO much better in peron and really is a darker red. My camera phone picked it up as orange for some reason.

Not sure. I saw it bubble up a little. I just got it today so IDK. The clowns are constantly in it. They LOVE it. They used to host my GSP colony and these green palys that I got rid of today as well. They've been hangin out with the anemone for the past few hours. I'm happy the RBTA is staying where I want it to instead of near the sand. The green palys that used to host were in the sand and the clowns would constantly kick the sand away from around it.

Things look great. I just hope they're not too rough with it. They were really really rough with a carpet anemone that I tried once (but it died :()

Thanks. They basically host anything lol. GSP to palys, they were harsh on my carpet anem that died. Hopefully they wont be to harsh on this one. I'll be ****ed if I have to take it out.

I've got my fingers crossed that they don't harass it to much :)
My clowns went and hung out at my torch coral the other day, but neither of them actually swam into it, so I doubt they will host it, lol...

I know how you feel. there are several high schoolers and even jr. high students here in rc that have very nice tanks. but then again my 8 year old daughter wants to set up her own tank soon.

I laughed when I read that because I'm a highschooler and my first reef tank was started when i was 13 :)

Yeah my clowns seem to host everything lol. Its kind of annoying. They kick the sand everywhere. Hopefull they'll stop that since I put the RBTA up on a rock rather than down low.

Since you only got the RBTA today I wouldn't be surprised if he starts to move soon. My RBTA stayed put for a whole 3 days in the initial spot I placed him when I bought it. I placed it low in the tank and it moved half way up the rock and stayed there for a few days and then went straight for the top. I run 2 X 250w MH's plus 2 X 110w VHO attinics on my 125g and it just loves the light. Since It moved to the top a year ago it's split 3 times. I've managed to get one out that I gave away to a friend but still have 3 of them and they haven't moved since.

When you say split quicker do you mean that it splits when its still small. I'd rather mine grow out real big before it splits

I didn't say it split quicker....it just did it about every 3 to 4 months on average. It hasn't split in a while. It's not something you can control. The friend I gave the one clone too has had an RBTA for 2 years and has never split once. Mine was still fairly small when it split the first time and that was 4 months after introducing it to my reef.
