Keep Durso or do a Herbie?

this is my first build and it's a 120 and came with the Durso and single return. I am debating pluming in a Herbie and running the return up the back. Is it worth it?

I do not think you will find many who will advocate keeping the Durso set up. My tank came the same way and I ran the return over the side so I could use a Herbie set up. I am very happy with it. It is silent and has at least one emergency drain which gives me some added comfort.

X2 - Tried all other methods, and found Herbie absolutely silent.

I'm running one 90 with durso and one with herbie. Herbie is quieter but tends to get out of adjustment from time to time. I wish I could make both of them BA.

Durso can't really handle much flow quietly, and don't have any backup mechanism, so the durso vs Herbie question is easy. I have to second what jlentz said above - I ran a Herbie in my 120 corner flow for 3 years. Finally got tired of futzing with the Herbie and cut out the overflow and installed a coast to coast bean system. There's no comparison!
