Keeping Angles in a SPS reef

Was it the multi-bar only or did the other angels join in on the feast?

BTW you have a beautiful tank

Angels in a Reef

Copps,
Thanks for the info. I agree the obtuse angles are nasty.:lmao:

I am working on building the SPS reef. Once I get that under control I will consider stocking Angels. Did you ever use zee? Do you run a UV?

The multi-bar are the most prolific pickers in the tank. The Goldens do some picking but stay so close to the rock work, and seldom come out on top of the rock work.

Most of the frags went on the island in the right side of the tank and were all in open areas, the goldens almost never cross the open water to the island.

So the multi-bar are the likely culprits.

I don't see my other angels picking at the corals. And with the jumping of my goldflake, that was the only other one who munched things that I liked.

I guess I should wait until my SPS frags mature and turn into colonies before I even consider adding more angels.

Hedgedrew, I am in awe of your tank. Looks incredible. How did you get away with a Gem and a black tang. I tried that. Had a 6 inch black tang in my tank I had to get rid of. He was way to aggressive towards the Gem. Granted your tank is 4 times larger than mine.

Very impressive assortment of fish and coral. Did you grow most of the SPS colonies?

I have a black and gem tang in a 450L tank both are about 12 to 13cm
The first one i aded was the black tang at about 9cm. I had it for over a year so it got bigger it is now 13cm. The gem tang was 7cm when i aded it it is the boss tang in the tank now at 12cm

How big is it? I have a 400 gal. tank, wonder if it's big enough for one. Also have some juvenile angels with some sps, but just starting to get serious about the corals. I like the fish much more but see that it is possible to have both. After looking at your you tube video I'm stoked! Thanks.

Tank is big. Over 1000g. And gem and black are huge like 6 inch each now. And fat. The black scol hybrid is smaller. Black was in tank first but gem is bigger now.

Clown sweetlips is over 8 inch. He needs new home soon. He sand sifts in mouth and spits out. Cleans sand. But makes mess. He will take chunk from your finger if tou leave it on surface

For some reason all the ladies think thats the rarest and sexiest fish in the tank. All of them. Always get compliments on sweetlips
