I keep having this problem with my rocks ive tried super gluing them together using epoxy for aquariums and it doesnt hold. Ive done some reasearch on the types of brands for aquascaping epoxy and glue but nothing to good to find...anyone have any thought?

Can someone recommend a good place to get rods? I've looked at Home Depot/Lowe's to no avail. I'm going to need some soon...

I ordered 1/2" fiberglass rod from grainger. There's a local will call window, so I didn't need to pay shipping.

Plastic rods?

Plastic rods?

I have seen threads on here where other reefers used pvc pipe from Hme D or Lowes. Get the smallest diameter avaiable . drill and insert...:spin1:

usplastics has them in a bunch of sizes. You have to order 6' sections. Not too expensive. I was looking at 1/2" round and with shipping it was like $15-$18 for 12 feet of it!!!
I think im going to use them to mount my mangroves in one of my overflows.

I would drill the rock and use the rods! You can even drill extra holes so you could put frag plugs in!

I have done a couple tanks with predrilled rock and rods but personally ended up hating the look. In effort to try and hide the rods, rocks ended up being too close and in parts ended up looking like a stack of pancakes. I tried different rocks and found that its not for me. Although with more playing around and maybe filling some parts with foam can end up looking good.

The one thing that has worked for me always is gravity. With time and a bit of work any pile of rocks can be stacked to look good. Some of them may need a hammer to get the right look. I try to get the rocks to lock up and hold each other.

For dry or dead rock epoxy can be used to make structures but its not gonna glue wet stones together.

Gravity has been my main tool for my first two scapes, but I want to try something different this time around.

I personally have never used either. I trust a good interlocked rock structure and I sort of give pressure to each rock as a stack to make sure they don't move or shift.
