Kelley's 37 gal system. from the start

Hey zmazza and bstoner, I figured I would let people take a look at your variations...

Zmazza's Build

Bstoner's Build

I haven't done much with mine lately. Finished up the final trim pieces and have a little light sanding and then I will start staining. I hope to stain it Saturday.

Good luck guys!

Well, I put my hand in my tank today and zzzzz... shocked! My Hydor is one of the defective ones. I am currently in the process of trying to figure out how to return it.

I have three tanks and a remote sump with pumps. All have GFCI, great insurance. Go ahead and spring for the GFCIs, you will never regret it and it just might keep you around a little longer.

Well..... :D

My wife bought new furniture for our living room and I am having a lot of trouble matching the stain. I have mixed more stains and tested it on more wood than I care to remember. I have spent over $50 on those little cans of stain and I still can't get a match. I have been testing different combinations of stains for the last couple weeks and I am getting close. Hopefully I can get it stained in the next couple weeks, but we'll see if my schedule permits. :D Life gets REALLY busy sometimes.

Wow 7 months since my last post.... :D

I just started working on the tank again and put some stain on it last night. I will try to get another coat on today and start polying it tomorrow. I'll post some pics when I get a chance.

Sorry it's been so long since my last post, I've been busy with summer stuff. Now that I am back inside, I plan on trying to get the tank done by Christmas. :D

Dont feel bad Keeley I started mine a few weeks after you and I just got it setup about a month ago. These DIY projects can get out of hand really quick and its hard to work on them in the summer.

I will be waiting for some updates.

Well..... finally the tank is done, at least with stain, poly and paint. :D

Here are a couple pics:

Thanks, it's nice to be back. I know its been a while but I see the light at the end of the tunnel now and I'm looking forward to getting things going again. I will hopefully work on the tank much more often now and the goal is to have it done by Christmas and fully up and running by New Year's weekend. We'll see how that goes. :D
