do you think i should trade the 6500 for 10000k

If it were me I would change them. But I like a blue tank. If you like it there is no reason to change it.

i had 4 actinics and that was just too blue for some reason. also it made the corals look kinda grey .


i guess i had heard that 6500k was linked to excessive algae growth was curious on other peoples opinion

it's all personal pref, but vho 10k's don't look as good as MH 10k. You may try 2 10k MH 4 actinic vho - this was one of my favorite set ups.

I experimented w 14k MH, 2 vho Actinic, and 2 50/50 vho but didn't like it. The 50/50 made a kind of pink light with that combo. The algae thing is probably something else. 6500k is a great grow bulb for corals it just doesn't make colors pop.
