I've never had any problems with them. They're real easy to prune and it only takes a few minutes or so to pick up the branches that have fallen, if that is indeed what's happening.
Mine propagate all over the place. I would not say they are a weed but they are easily broken and if you dont pick up the broken bits, they will attach what ever they are next to. there is a green color variety that looks pretty cool.
Has many said, they grow. The drop limbs. Current moves limbs. Limbs attach. Now you have more Kenya trees. They can attach to snail and hermit shells.
If you are good at picking up the pieces that you won't want to grow or get picked up by the current then you probably won't have any troubles. However, if you are a lazy reefer, like me, and whom has Kenya trees, then they tend to take over the lower area of the tank. Not a bad thing per say but over time it does make one say hmmm....I really need to clean up and do some house keeping
Easier to manage than Xenia I'd say and I have both. Kenya tree I try and keep in check. Xenia, I don't. I'm actually finding my Hammer coral(s) to be more of a issue due to size.
