Kessil AP 700 Owners Gather Here!

I'd be so disappointed if I had to bolt on some additional lighting and totally ruin the sleek aesthetic of my new light fixture.

Yea, it's kind of a bummer. If I didn't have this stupid huge double pan glass center brace blocking so much light I would not have the T5s. But since I have them I like it. Not so much what it looks like about the display but in it.

Is anyone out there running a mix of kessil ap700 and the 360/160's?
I am thinking about adding maybe 2 to my ap700 but have concerns about matching color as well as matching sunrise and sunset and was hoping someone has some experience.

Those Sun Blaster nano-techs don't ruin the aesthetic all that much the way I mounted them (see pics above). Keep in mind that cord was just for testing, the final set up you can't see the cords.

I have a 93 gallon cube (30x30x24). I'm considering the AP700 for it. Do you all think this fixture would be overkill for my tank?

It's not even close to overkill. If you use the Kessil arms, you'll have to buy the extensions to be able to center the fixture on 30" tank

So I got my Coral+ bulbs today. They are great, but I think I'll swap one out for a Blue+. They give a nice bright slightly pinkish light that really brings out the coral color but I personally would like just a tad more blue and the AP700 is unable to account for the missing blue alone! Starting them at 2 hours for now and will increase 2 hours per week until at 8.

The second pic is a little misleading because of the camera accounting for the bulbs. It's not that blue, the first pic is more representative of the actual visual.

Very excited.

sixpackgarage what t5 bulbs are you running? I'm at 4 ATI Blue Plus and it's a little too blue for my tastes.

I had 4 blue plus in there and I agree way too blue for a photo whore like me.. I need to be able to photograph my stuff.. I'm not a savage!! [emoji16]so now I run B+ on the outer edges, P+ second row back, C+ second row front.. I think it's close to perfect coloration.

Thank you.

Hey guys anyone having trouble getting their par up with this fixture? For the past 4 days I've been slowly turning up intensity and actively monitoring par with PMK but I don't see any par increase. Last night I lowered the fixture an inch just to see if I'd gain anything but none as of today.

I am however running the fixture pretty high around 10-11 inches above water but I believe I should still be seeing an increase in par as I turn up the intensity. I am currently at 65% with a 4 hour peak.

Something is wrong with meter. The smallest adjustments should be measured. My apogee can sense 1% change usually. Lowering an inch should change a lot.

I use mine often and never had any issues.

But I don't leave mine in the tank. Film algae, snail slime, coralline algae.

Has it been updated?

Make sure the sensor is clean.

Yup, if you need day to day accuracy for comparison then it needs cleaned each day.

There are also other things that affect PAR out side of the fixture. Water clarity, debris, and stuff like that.

Nope, never updated it. Didn't even know there was an update for it or how to. Can you enlighten me please?

Use the local interface. Then look under module setup. Anything that says 'old' will need to be updated. I would look to see if your Apex itself needs to be updated 1st.
