Kessil AP 700 Owners Gather Here!

Use the local interface. Then look under module setup. Anything that says 'old' will need to be updated. I would look to see if your Apex itself needs to be updated 1st.

Got it, thanks. We'll see if I have a better reading tomorrow leaving the intensity unchanged tonight.

Hey guys, I have my Kessil AP700 10 inches above the water line on my RED SEA REEFER 450. I have only some LPS pieces at the moment. I have been at Deep Ocean Blue setting for the past year at 40% for 10 hours per day. My Duncans have grown new heads, fruit loop Zoas have grown new heads, Utter Chaos Zoas has grown 2 new heads, Blastomussa has grown 2 new heads, war coral is encrusting on the frag plug, Acans have grown new heads, Green Star Polyps is growing crazy as well. My Wall hammer, Purple Tip Frogspawn, and Maze Brain seem to be slowwwwwwww.......... almost stunted if I may say so. I do feed Reef-Roids twice a week to all my corals. All water parameters are good as well.

Question: What are you guys running your AP700 at. As I said I'm at 40% for a the past year......I see some folks are at 60,70,80 percent. I don't want to bleach anything.

On another note........My Duncan's seem to be green on 1 half of their stalks while the other half is a pale brown. (shadowing perhaps?) They are thriving well however.

I have 2 AP700s on reefer 525 9 inches above waterline at 52%. Will slowly ramp up more when I fix my dino-x nightmare.

I have two AP700s over a 72" 180 peak at 70% for 8 hours plus two 60" T5s on for 4 gourde while I acclimate new corals them back to 8 hours.

You could increase intensity and that will create more light. Punching around inside your tank to color up shaded parts of corals, just no more than 5% weekly and make sure your corals are well fed or they may bleach some.

New to the Kessil AP700

New to the Kessil AP700

Hi Guys

I just recently purchased a AP700 and its awesome but have a few questions. I have made a program which I want to start at 10am and run thru until 10pm however the light comes on at about 8am so Im not sure what Im doing wrong. Is there somewhere where Im supposed to set the time on the unit as I haven't seen that area. I have attached a picture of my program so you can see what I mean. I have no luna cycle on and its on acclimatization atm but not sure why it comes on early. Any help would be much appreciated. Also any advice on good programs would be awesome or if you think mine is ok?
my program starts at 10am with deep blues and as I try simulate the sun rise and getting higher I increase the intensity along with the whiteness of the colour until it peaks at 77% and sky blue then falls. I have from 70% to 77% and back to 70% from 2pm to 6pm and then fades down to 1% and off at 10pm. This any good guys. Thanks in advance for you assistance and advice.

Ive owned the A160's supplementing MH's and loved the blues of the kessils(no secrets here).
I also love the look of the AP700 and would even consider two units for a 60"x24"x24", but would hate to supplement as I would have to add a canopy to hide it as it takes all of the appeal IMO.
What made you add the T5's. Shadowing?
I think as good coverage as it performs, a single ap700 for a 30"x24" would be ok?

As long as you have the correct number of lights you won't ever need to add anything. I added the T5s because why not, there is no down side to haveing T5s other than ascetics about the tank. I've not seen any difference in my corals since adding the T5s and may remove them.

I certainly prefer the Kessil only look, but that could just be my bulb choice (Blue Plus).

Does the ap700 turn off at the correct time, or is that early as well? I might be wrong but I think the unit will gradually ramp up to brightness settings. So maybe it's off and it is ramping up to the 10am value. Might want to try having a time point at 0 before you want it to turn on. I have moonlight mode on, so I haven't had your issue.

Let us know if this helps.

It does ramp up. Depending on setting usually comes on 5-10 early. If u are coming on 2 hours early, my guess is for some reason it's not synced to the time on yiur phone.

Also make sure that when u want it to turn off it is 0% not 1%. So if u want it to go off at 10pm then 0% must be at 10pm.

The above doesn't help, I would also turn off acclimation mode and see if you still have the problem.

U can't turn off the warm up period.

Correct, but it should be 10 minutes not 2 hours. If it's turning on 2 hours before it's supposed to something isn't functioning properly.

What is the inner distance between the mounting bars on the AP700? Just exploring lighting options at this point. With a center mounted 16" Synergy Reef Shadow overflow will it fit? I know the mounting bars with the tank mount clips wound not work as the inner distance between the clips are 13.5" per my email with Kessil. But I know they offer an adapter to the mount bars directly to the stand and not the aquarium rim. Is there enough clearance for the 16" internal and external boxes of the Synergy Reef overflow if I go this route?
