Does anybody think hanging their fixture from the 2 mounting arms would work? I already have the arms, set as high as the fixture can go because I want my tank to be clear so you can see through to the wall behind it. But I don't want any cords or the extra height from the metal poles to ruin the look. So I'm thinking of maybe hanging it from those arms, I'm just concerned that it might not be stable enough.

I just got an AP700 for my SCA 66G and was hoping for some ideas on height, intensity and schedule. Please help.

After pulling my hair for about a month trying to decide on a light, I filly pulled the trigger on an ap700! I hope a single fixture is enough for my Red Sea reefer 350

Tbh I don't have the tools and I live in an apartment, which is why I opted for the mounting arms at first. Can you not just hang it from the ceiling?

That's what I have on my reefer 350
How high are you running the fixture? And are you supplementing anything in addition?

Fixture came in today! I will be setting it up asap to get corals out of holding tank. What intensity should I be running to acclimate?

I have it about 9" from the surface and no supplement lighting. Low light corals on the sides and high intensity light corals in the middle and top
What kind of lighting and intensity did they have in the holding tank?
My general rule is 35%+5% each week there after. @50% increase 2-3% until 70% or desired intensity. A PAR meter should be used

How long is the display?

I don't have access to a par meter. They're coming from my holding tank running AI Prime HD at 72%

So what do you do when you get new frags that did not come from an LED tank and your current corals are already used to the AP700 at 70%?Alright, start at 40% for a week, then 5% every 7 days until about 50%. There after 2-3% weekly all the way to 70%. Kessil suggest at least a 4 hour peak and I suggest around 6. What ever you do do not use the preset "Acclimation" program. Its way to fast.
Why so slow? I advise this routine because the lights are powerful. Though you may not see the same peak hot spots with huge PAR numbers the difference with this light is the spread. Low-Med light corals placed on the sand/around edges/ corners will receive significantly higher PAR in those areas and can easily be damaged very quickly. Also recovering from too much light can take a very long time if ever.

Just mounted the AP700 on my tank. There wasn't enough clearance behind the tank so I had to invert mounting arms to go inside the tank to mount it. Would that be a problem?
