I supplement my A360 with AI Hydra 26 HD to minimize shadowing. The AI come on for 5 hours a day. I have 3 A360s and 3 AI.

I have a 100g (48"W x 20"L x 24"H). I'm debating the Kessil a360we tuna blue vs a160we tuna blue. The Kessil site says they're both good for 24" diameter. I'm planning on starting with sps, and expanding. What are the pros and cons of each light?

Question: I there a cheaper alternative to hooking up the Kessils to the the VDM on the Apex? I'v read that the cables are pricey, but can't find the alternative.

If there isn't an alternative, it's no big deal. Small price to pay for great control.

If you have the money shoot for the 360s if you are planning on sps. And for future upgrades you won't have to get new lighting. I use 2 ap700s over my 120 and I'm pretty much strictly sps and they are awesome.

You need the 360s, 160s are not enough light for SPS.

Depends on the depth of the coral. I use 160s on my 40b and they are great with sps. However yes, I would agree for the depth of a 120 the 360 would be a better choice.

Specific to his system which is far from a 40, 360 are required. AP700 would also be a good choice.

How deep under the water are acropora able to be kept under 360's? Looking for ideas to plan rock structure. I plan to keep them within a 12" radius of the light spread. Lights are currently 8" above waterline.
