Kessil Club

All you need is a male to male 3.5 mm audio cable to connect the two lights together. The spectral controller will come with a cable to run from the controller to one light. You can use any 3.5 mm audio cable so don't waste your money on the Kessil branded one.

Ditto, BestBuy, Walmart, etc. Make sure it's the stereo setup cable and not the mono. This is the same thing Kessil sells.

+1 when you link one light to the other the controller will apply whatever the setting is for that channel to the enire chain. The kessel controller supports 2 channels. If you want to control each light independently, then you can use both channels and not link the lights.

Just picked up a used 125 today. Will be transferring my 40B to it. I currently have 2 160 we's on the 40. The 125 has a 1.5 ft glass support in the middle. Not sure what to do on lighting it, or how much that glass will absorb if I place a light over it. If I go off my current 40B , I should be using 4 lights. Should I place 2 on each side of the glass support, or space them across evenly or what. The previous tank owner had 2 large islands on either side of the glass support, but was running a CF fixture across the whole thing. If I go the 2 island route, can I get away with 1 light on each side or what?

+1 or sell the 160we's to offset the cost of 2 A360WE's. I would also throw a BML 12000k or a twin t5 in there to supplement in the case of shadowing. I ran a successful lps/zoa shroom setup with 2 A160's in a 48 90 gallon. I had to run the 160we's at 80% but it was amazing combined with the bml.

Finally...

Finally...

Finally made it to the club. Took me more than 2 months to get the A360WE with Kessil controller. Here is my 3 month old tank.
Juwel Lido 200, 27x20x24 with 50L sump. Coral is getting used to new lighting I hope... they are quiet shy. Light is slowly getting to settings. I hope to get them right soon with help from the club.

I am setting up a 30 gallon cube and plan on using a 150 ocean blue.

What would be my limits on corals? I know softies should be fine but what about if I moved my bubble coral or my acans into the tank.

From my exeriences with a couple different tanks with kessils(150 and 350) they can grow or at least sustain most anything including sps. Its the colors that suffer. Particularly reds, oranges and deep dark blues and purples. But thats also not just a kessil issue as a lot/most LED's have that problem, hence you seeing so many led users are supplementing with T5's.

Ill never run another nano tank again, but if I was I would run a MH and a couple small strips of blue cree's, or if you were stuck on a LED I would feel more confident in the radion.

I have a 100g cube (36" x 36" x 19") I currently run 4 T5's and a 175w Halide. I'm thinking about changing out the halide and putting in a Kessil and keep the T5's active. Should I put in a A160 or A360? I'd go with the 360 for sure if the tank was deeper. The layout of the lights is ||x||

You'll need at least two A360WE's

I'm replacing a single halide and keeping the 4 t5's so this will just be for center coverage (basically where my anemone and clowns hang out), so don't think I'll need 2 360's

Color settings

Color settings

I have the A360WE over a 27x20x24 tank and looking into the right schedule. Have been trying to read all the threads and understand much more the specs of this fixture, but one doubt is still remaining.
I found following schedule "official suggestion from Kessil" on one of the other forums:

Time Color Intensity
8:00 0% 15%
10:00 20% 50%
12:00 50% 100%
14:00 75% 100%
16:00 40% 50%
18:00 0% 0%

Kessil says, "It is very difficult to make a recommendation for a specific tank, however, the color setting is primarily for aesthetics and minimally effects the spectrum. The intensity is essential for coral health, growth, and appearance. Depending on your current lighting schedule, we recommend starting at 10% intensity in the morning and working up to 100% intensity in the middle of the day for 1 hour, and then ramping back down. If your coral can take it, you can extend this peak period at 100% bit by bit."

Here it stays that color is not that important for coral growth and healt. The focus should be on intensity.
Intensity will give you more PAR I understand and gets the light more deeper in the tank so that makes sense.

Would this mean that the color setting of the Kessils do not change the spectrum that much?
I personally like the more blue appearance as it seems more natural.

Any experience concerning color settings and reaction on corals?
What does color setting 30 compare to 70 for example?

If you start using Kessil's and ramp up to 100% intensity the first day you can kiss all your coral goodbye.

Thank you Scorpius, that was clear. That is why there is an acclimation set up in the controller which ramps up in a controlled way.
Do you know if your corals react different (or same) when the A360 are set to color 30 or 70, but with same intensity?
