Kessil Club

You can split the lights using both ports on the SC, Port 1 to your DT and Port 2 to your FT, but I'm not sure how long of a cable run you'll need? Email Kessil, they should be able to tell you the max length for the cable.

Oh yes, it does have a second port. I need to run just shy of 25 feet. I'll email and ask. Thanks guys

I have one a160 currently. Thinking about pulling the trigger on a red sea reefer 250 (35.5" length x 21" high x 20" wide). If I add another 160 to this tank do you all think this would provide enough coverage for the tank. Plan to be a mixed reef tank with some SPS.

Seeing that it's only 21" tall you might be able to get away with it if you keep all your SPS towards the top half. 2 360s would probably look a lot better, but more $$$

Thanks! I'll probably run one 360 and the 160 together for a little while. Good news is I really like the articulating mounts that only work with the 360's!

Although just think how nice the ap700 would look on your tank [emoji6]

If you are talking about the Kessil gooseneck mount, the 160 will work with it too. The 160 should have come with a mount that you replace the hanging eyelets with.

I am talking about this - https://premiumaquatics.com/products/articulating-led-mount-kessil-leds.html

I wasn't a fan of the gooseneck so I built a mount for my 160 out of 8020

Then I'm confused. You mentioned they only work with 360s but you show a 160 in the pictures

The articulating mount only works with the 360's. I don't really like the goose neck so I made a mount out of 8020 for my 160.

The articulating mount allows you to better aim the 360.

What's your Kessil lighting schedule? What works best for growing and color of corals?

I am guessing kessil a160we and a360we can be controlled on the same circuit through a controller. I want to use the 160 to fill in for some of the shading.. The Kessil a360we have been amazing on my tank except for some shading.

You are correct.

I'm looking at going the Kessil route to light a very large tank, I'm curious what kind of spread people have gotten from mounting them high above the tank, such as 24" above the surface? It would be a predator tank, so I do not need high par out of them. I'm looking at the A160WE.

I had one person claim 2' high I could probably get a decent amount of light over a 48x48" area. Does it sound like there is any truth to this? I know I would get shadows on the bottom depending on the scaping, but that isn't an issue. With no coral I'm not worried about it being even, just enough to see the fish and look good.

If you contact Kessil they will tell you what you can get away with. They are really good about that stuff !!
