Yeah? That sounds promising. My unit is less than 2 years old. I'll be damned if I have a receipt anywhere though. Is there a serial number or something on it to date it? Will that work?

I needed no receipt. They didnt even want the defective unit back. In my case, the fan on one stopped working and it would shut itself off after about 10 minutes running. They will ask for the serial number so they can look up when it was manufactured. They cannot tell when it sold at retail tho..thats why they ask for a receipt. But if the lamp isnt ancient, say manufactured over 3 yrs ago.. I'm fairly certain you will have no problem with a return. You will have to pay postage on the replacement.
They want to sell folks more units .. and backing up what they sold previously is a great way to do that.
Edit and warning: Australia may be different. They tried to tell me because I lived in Canada, my warranty was only one year. When I asked them why..they bumped me up to some supervisor to answer. He said it was because Europe and other countries have a different electrical grid...but when I pointed out the US/Canada grid is entirely intertwined and the same, I got my replacement. I dont think that will work for Australia. Four weeks old..you should have no problems in any case.

Hey all. I'm getting back into the hobby after many years out. When I was exiting the hobby LED lights weren't even a blip on the radar.
For an exclusively SPS and Tridacna clam 24x24x20 tank would the recommended layout be 2x A360WEs front to back or side to side? Thanks.

I'd orient them in a manner that best lights whatever aquascape you come up with.
AP700 would be better if u haven't bought them yet

The Ap700 is 36" long .. his tank is 24"
AP is a great light, but not that great for this application.
With 2 360's, he could move them wherever the light was needed.

I should have said the Ap700 coverage is 36" long. Left out coverage, so yeah, my bad for the omission.
Single AP700 Maximum Coverage
36"x 24" at 7" above water level
48" x 24" at 18" above water level
*edit: he's going to have a fair amount of spillover his tank being 24".
This can more easily be avoided with twin 360's

The AP700 can cover 4' much lower than 18". I keep mine at 12" but I've had it as low as 9" before with full coverage.

Wrong. I have 2 on a 59" tank, 8 inches above, almost no spillover. 1 ap700 is better then 2 360s almost always
Yup. The AP700 is unequivocally better than 2x360s; better spectrum, better spread, stronger light (due to better clusters and reflectors) and fully controllable out of the box.

Better spectrum, why? Because one can control individual colors and there's some red and green in there? Kessil should put one of those clusters and reflectors into the 360 form factor, now that would be something.
