Kessil or Radion G3?

People will tend to recommend what they use ..... Suggest you try to find a place(s) where you can see them for yourself. Kessils generally have a very different look than other LEDs.
 
I have both and have used all generations of radions, kessils are nice but as far as having a ready made template to set your lights off with all the additional colors radion is the way to go if you had to choose between the two. I also used the kessil ap700 and while it had all the colors and was nice, it was to much money to spend on a piece of equipment without a solid software program.
 
Luvreefs23 I'm having the same debate as the OP. Trying to decide between a pair of Kessil 360's or 2 radions for my 4x2x2 120g.

The kessils would be cheaper and I have a controller to program them. Would you still recommend the radions? If so why?

I would, i have a canopy so I'm running two G4 pros, 2 kessil a360we and 2 36" t5 coral plus bulbs. If I could do it over I would have gotten a 3rd G4 pro over the 2 kessils. I like having all the colors, also you can't manipulate the coral lab templates or coral radiance templates with blue and white...sure it shimmers and looks neat but they just didn't produce the par I wanted. My light are about 16" off the surface of the water and while I was waiting to order my g4s my kessils were at 65% and sps was browning out In the top 6-8" of the tank. Added the radions and put em to 60% and turned the kessils down to 40% & colors are back and brown is gone. I'm more of less just using the kessils to supplement some blue at the higher par less pretty times of the radions program. It's working well...haven't been using the t5s really. I also bought a apogee par meter, the gold one from brs that's better suited for led and my top 3rd of my tank is around 280-320 par, middle is 200 and bottom is anywhere from 120 to 150. I was tired of the guess game....I know exactly where to put corals now
 


This at least gives you idea how I had em mounted. The t5s weren't on, kessils were around 40% and radions at 50%, just installed everything so was just taking a picture before I dialed it all in. Picture doesn't do the lights justice as far as just how bright they are
 
I'm able to change all of the pre programmed templates including coral lab etc. Not sure why you can't edit your blue/white?

Don't get what you are saying. I'm saying with kessil you aren't getting the coloration you get with radions. The led colors aren't there
 
I'm toying with replacing my 4 year old Reefbreeders lights with the G4 pro and running simultaneously with my Kessils.
