Kick ick/Ruby reef, do I turn off UV sterilizer when medicating?

The bottles only say remove carbon and turn off skimmer, says nothing about the UV. Am I safe leaving it on?

UV usually breaks down medications so adding anything I would turn off the UV. What are you treating? Kick ich is not a proven way to treat ich or velvet. Only proven methods for ich is hypo or copper and for velvet it is copper.

Ick. I 'm using a combo of kick ick and Rally. It worked great on my 29 gallon reef last year.

I would go with Cupramine. There are alot of "snake oil" quick cures. It is likely that the fish you had it the 29 gallon simply built immunity to the ich and that is why it no longer showed up after using that treatment. Cupramine and hypo are proven solutions to ridding parasites, Kick Ich is not. Good luck.
