Killer Lickia?

I am having mysterious dissapearences of mushrooms from our 1500 liter cylindrical reef.

One of my collegues swears he saw the Linkia sea star eat some. I have never heard of this before but don't have any other suggestions.

Anyone got any ideas?

hmm.... They are supposed to be safe for reefs......are you feeding it anything?

How sure are you of the identification of the starfish?

Well it looks like Linckia laevegata, its big and blue, it was sold to me as that and one of the scientists at work spent some time in the Pacific Islands doing his PHD and one of the animals he studied (not extensively I admit) was Linkia and he said it was one. So fairly sure but not certain!
