Well don't know where to start...

Bought a new home late last year and of course all the architectural design and interior design revolved around the 400g in wall tank. With 10 months of construction I had plenty of time to think about what I wanted for my build.

Decided on a 72x36x36 1" acrylic tank with a center internal overflow box and black back.

Lighting
Still undecided if I should go with several hydras or kessil pendants.

Flow
Coralvue Diablo DC 10500 pump on 2 returns with seaswirls
2 WP40s

Sump
48x24x18
Vertex alpha cone 250
Refugium with chaeto

Filtration room
7´x6.5´

Cooling
12,000 Btus Minisplit

Here are a couple of picks of the built in progress

Great dimensions on the tank. Any thoughts on your stocking list?

Gonna do a minimalistic aquascape with just 3 towers, 2 taller ones on the side and a shorter one in the middle. Will use around 100 lbs of dry rock and 50 lbs of dry shelf rock.

The stocking list will be a school of 6+ yellow tangs, pair of naso tangs, powder blue tang, powder brown tang, achiles tand, school of 6+ antias, 2 perculas, clown trigger (maybe), ****** trigger (maybe)

For corals it will be softies and LPS dominated, will probably not do SPS.

I like the way this looks!

Looking sweet Mario!

THX, will try to mimic my cube on the fish and coral stocking

A local friend of mine is buiding the tank, he has done several XL and extra tall acrylic tanks this past year.

More build pics of the filtration room....

Minisplit AC for cooling and humidity management will use a 8,000 or 12,000 BTU system

Filtration room lighting, hole for exhaust (to the outside of the house) and the vents for the central AC.

Floor drain for the filtration room in case of minor emergencies, water lines for a small sink/faucet and RODI.

Nice fishroom, looks really well planned. Did you have to specifically request the drain in the floor? All the houses I've looked at in Tucson do not have drains in the floor, even in the laundry rooms.

I had the construction company add the drain to the original house plans before giving the first downpayment :jester:

Can't wait to see more!

Will keep updating

Took a tour to my two favorite shops right now

Here the tank is sat at exact height I will have the stand built to, will need a 3 step ladder to access it from the front.

Now this is my other baby Im building that has my wife extremely jealous and mad because of the budget.

The chandelier is made out of 150 mule deer antler sheds. Each antler is machine sand blasted and sanded down with 9 different sandpaper grits and at the end it will be polished to get a nice finish to it.

Holy ****!! I've never seen anything like that. What in the world would a ballpark budget be for something that extravagant?! Fascinating to say the least.

I cannot say the price because my wife might see this post.

J/K...

Im just getting charged for labor since I provided all the mule deer antlers. The owner of the company is a friend of mine and has done for my hunting lodge several chandeliers, floor lamps and mirrors.

Something that big you just dont ask how much it costs. You just admire the structure. You must have been saving those antlers for a while. A long while.
