i have a kole tang and was wondering if it would be ok to add a clown tang at some point? thanks, tank is a 125 reef

I wouldn't. Clown tangs need lots of swimming room, if they are kept in close quarters with other tangs, they can become aggressive with other fish. These fish should be kept in at least 250G tanks. Keep us posted on what you decide

Exactly. Aggressive is an understatement.

Clown Tangs are very beautiful, just one of those species that require LOTS of room. They grow very quickly and aggression comes rapidly. Hardto get rid of a fish when that does happen. I would save the headache and not even introduce it into your system.. I agree with you, they are very beautiful fish tho!

I'm sure a small one would be fine, but it's no fun to catch a fish. Yang aggression can be very serious as well, you don't want to see your kole get laid open. :(

thanks guys, i will pass on the clown tang.

another question, will i be able to even add another tang to my 125 with having a tang allready? if so what type would you suggest. i dont want a yellow or hippo , looking for not the runn of the mill

You may have a bit of a skirmish when you try to add another tang to the tank but I think it can be done with some careful fish selection and an acclimation box. I would stick to the smaller and mellower species, I really like the mimic and the convict in this regard and think either could work things out with a kole in a 125.
