Kolorscape and DIY Rock

Well I was at the HD in Greece this morning and they have the Kolorscape playsand. BUT right on the package it says not for Aquarium use. I didn't have any vinagar with me lol so could test it, and I really have no use for sand if it the wrong stuff. What I was wondering is if anyone has any experience with Kolorscape, and know the scoop on it?

Put it in some vinegar and water and it should fizz continuously

If it's the Kolorscape with the blue coloring on the bag... I have that in my 125 sps tank and it did pass the vinegar test. I was told it only has the "not for aquarium use" verbage due to an agreement they have to not compete w/ the "for aquarium use" sand. =)

When I get ready to replace my sand in the future I will be using actual aragonite sand with a smoother surface. This Kolorscape stuff is fine but a lot of the surface reminds me of a crystal vs. a smooth rounded surface found in aragonite. My sand cuke, sand star and conches have no issues w/ it but I'm sure at least the cuke would appreciate digesting a smoother surface... I would say it should work just fine for DIY rock.

Be careful. Not all bags pass the test and some of it is very dirty.

All 4 bags I bought this summer tested out fine and were of the same quality. Maybe some batches are different? I did have to do a lot of rinsing but for the price I couldn't really complain about that.

Both mine passed the Fizz test as well. $4 a bag and I can't complaine for 80 lbs. Again thanks for everyones feedback.

Just an FYI, you will need to go out in the garden section to find it, also the HD on E Ridge has it too.
