Are they are as good/better than the originals? I have my vortechs on the back wall of my 6' tank, and picked up a couple of these for extra flow on the ends. They were only $28 a pop for the 1050gph versions

I have one and have had nothing but problems with it freezing up on me. I don't know if it is an isolated case, but I can't get the thing to stay spinning.

Cool thanks for those... wonder if they updated the bushings on newer pumps, although I'll never know how old they are since I ordered online. For such a cheap sale price I figured they were worth it, and I should finally be able to get rid of the dead spots in the tank corners

I just got one recently from Big Als Online (Evolution 1400)- it is really strong for my 30" long tank- bounces off the opposite wall; the fish love it!

I like the new design better. My old k4's always came apart and the impeller kept sticking. I'm much happier now. I think they are slightly quieter as well.

I haven't had any trouble with my 1050 or 750, I guess they are about three months old or so now. I don't have them on any sort of timer/wavemaker at the moment, but I've been considering it.

i bought two of them right when they came out. and i have had zero problems with them. they're awesome in my opinion
