Korallin Ca Reactor Setup Instructions

Thanks- I went to the Cole-Palmer site first and thought it must be some kind of joke but eventually went to Ebay. There are tons of used CP Masteflex pumps and some pretty cheap but not many digital brushless. I see a bunch that are under $300 and variable speed though. For that price I can get a 3 pump doser so I'm back to square one :(

The drip cup is something people just set up themselves so there's a convenient place to put the pH probe. I've got mine hanging on one of the sump dividers so the reactor effluent drips into the cup and the cup overflows directly into the return pump section. They do make lids for the reactor that have a pH port built in- here's an old ebay sample.

ps- I now have a Cole-Palmer peristaltic pump feeding the reactor and the effluent drip rate is rock solid :)

Thanks Gregr, I appreciate the information. Guess I need to go and read the thread on the Cole-Palmer peristaltic pump. Did you use it to feed the input, or did you replace the pump that came with the reactor?

The Eheim circulation pump stays in place- the CP pump just feeds the reactor at a perfectly stable rate.

Yeah it is- I ended up getting a great setup for $250 and I feel like it was well worth it... and I'm cheap :p If you get a pump head that takes different sized tubing you can get anything from below 1ml/minute to a gusher (1000s) at very consistent rates. Also- if you check ebay you'll find other peristaltic pumps that are cheaper that will fit the bill too, but probably not as well made as the CPs.
