oops, double posted!
Not at all, I was just describing the case were a reactor may work without a feed pump.Originally posted by reef addict uk
It's not going to be possible for the reactor and effluent outlet to be at the same level as I don't have a sump - will this cause the reactor to not work properly?
cheers,
Mark
What is your Kh units of measure? is it 2.9 meq/lt?Originally posted by reef addict uk
All working nicely now I think!
CO2 is bubbling at 10 BPM and effluent at 40DPM.
Effluent ph 6.8
kh 29
tank ph 8.1
cheers,
Mark
If it is the effluent it is pretty good. Usually it reads between 25 and the mid 30s.Originally posted by reef addict uk
It reads a dkh of 29. This is on the effluent coming out of the reactor. Will test tank water dkh tonight.
Sometimes suspended particles of media in the sample can generate errors in the testing. As the tritration acid gets added, the particles dissolve giving the impression that the alkalinity is high.Originally posted by reef addict uk
Thanks for the tip on the test kits.
Maybe tonights effluent readings aren't so good, ph 6.48 dkh >50!
The dkh may be due to the test kit, getting a salifert kit tomorrow and will test again. I've increased the drip rate also to 60 DPM to raise the ph a little.
Good check valves (Bronze or heavy duty plastic ones) last a long time. What kind is your valve. There are some that just look like aquarium pump check valves, those are terrible.Originally posted by KH971
How often does a check valve go bad? I think mine is going bad and I am having to crank up the pressure to get a flow of CO2.
Sorry double post, I think this thread is getting too long.Originally posted by KH971
