Korallin Reactor

It's all about the flow
Im going to be setting my reactor back up and I was wondering if anyone out there has done any easy mods to theirs?

The one thing that I didnt like was the 1/4' tubing and the compression fittings. Has anyone changed theirs over to the RO style quick lock fittings?

Also are most people using the aqualifter pump or a minijet 404 to feed the reactor?

Thanks!

I have 2 Korallins. One is fed with a Maxijet and the other is a aqualifter. Both setups work well. The maxijet is way overkill but it was the pump I had. I rigged it so most of the flow in my sump on the surface and then there is a "t" with a line going to the reactor input.

I have had zero issues with the standard fittings

I would like to do the same thing but I believe the fittings on the reactor are metric. correct me if i'm wrong. I never liked the fittings on there.

I thought these were a pretty popular reactor. They were a few years ago.

I think you can use a standard 3/8" mpt fitting. I'm going to stop by my plumbing supply shop tomorrow and get some and see what I find. I mostly want to mod the feed and the effulent(s) so they can be controlled better I hate the little ball valves on it.

I am really surprised that no one has messed with theirs. Maybe I should try the DIY forum.

I got the parts to do it in 1/4" tube and 3/8" tube I think I'll tap a mini jet for 3/8 and use the 1/4" for the effulents.

I use a T hose bard fitting coming from my main return to the tank, it saves you money, power, and the necessity of maintaining another pump. In my opinion this are very well design reactors I have been using mine for over 4 years without any problem.

There are threads on this already. I have modded mine with a gate valve on the effluent and a standard ro/di union on the input. This thread list has pics and lists the part number that you need to order from US Plastics.
