Is my fish sick?

Looks to me like he is stressed or has some kind of parasitic infection.

Has it always had that coloring, or is it an all of a sudden thing. Has it been acting weird, how long have you had it. Korans will change colors and their center turns a yellow green color (but not overnight). If it is all of a sudden and just stress the color should return. Make sure your water has good chems, are any of your other fish having problems?

I bought the fish about three months ago. When the fish was bought there was no light spots on its body. In the past month I have noticed the body has started to look lighter. I thought it might be turning into an adult.
The tang does mess with the angel so maybe its stressed.

my lion started loosing color before it died after a move if you have a way to quarintine it to keep it away from the tang so he can recover

YTs can be pretty mean, especially to new additions. If you could QT the Koran, I think that would be a good move.

I believe the Angelfish has ick because he brushes up against the rocks. If that is true what is best way to cure and how long will it take.

If the Koran has Ich, then it's all over your tank. The best thing to do would be QT all the fish and try hyposalinity. Keep them in QT and with 4-6 weeks without signs of Ich, they would be ready to return to the tank. And with the display tank being fishless for that same period, any Ich living in the system should have died as well.

I suppose you could treat in-tank, but then you run the risk of fouling your LR.

Assuming you have a filter on your tank - put your rocks, sand and inverts in a tub with powerhead and heater, then hypo/medicate your main tank.

hey there is reef safe stuff I use that I trust and has always helped. I use it in my marine tank with inverts.
U can get it from Petsolutions.com its called No-ICH Marine, you can even get it from marinedepot.com but its under a different name same bottle. I have to dose a 300 gallon.

Not a good idea. Medicating the main display is never a good idea. The best/most thorough method to deal with parasites like ich is to put all fish into a QT tank. Treat with hypo or copper. Meanwhile, leave the main display tank fishless for 6-8 weeks.

I started this thread about a month ago. I have since changed my aqua scape because the tang and angelfish were fighting over a cave. In the past week the angelfish has gained its color back. The Angelfish was only stressed because the harrassment by the tang.

Quarantine your fish and allow your tank to continue to run. Ick has a life cycle and will perish without a host. My Koran had coloration changes when he was first introduced to my tank because of stress. Any illness will cause stress inducing color changes.

Possible body and gill fluke infestation which is more common in large angelfish. Pull it out and fresh water dip, then medicate with antibiotics. The same thing happened to my Juvi Emperor; i waited too long and by the time I FW dipped it was too late.
