L.A. in wall 800 gallon system!

thanks...

thanks...

George, this is an amazing feat! I can't believe you took the time to color code all the plumbing. It looks intense... excellent tank!

What's the next step and when is the estimated time of completion?

Estimated time that it will be up and running will probably be in 2-3weeks! Of course I didn't think it would take me this long but I'm doing all this stuff by myself! And its a first for me so I'm learning as I go along! Its fun to work on it but I'm getting anxious!

tank weight

tank weight

btw... how thick is the glass and how heavy was it carrying it in?

Believe it or not with 8 guys we couldn't lift it! I had to build a steel cart and rent two material lifts! I think it weights easily over 1,000 lbs!

Thanks for all the encouragement!

Lucky man to have such an understanding wife. I absolutely love that you color coded the pipes. Freaking brilliant. Looking at the plumbing always boggles my brain, and the color made it understandable.

I just found this build - What a King-Sized project King G. Congrats on all of the great work so far. This has the makings of a really spectacular reef. Tagging along for sure!!!

Regards,

Sheldon

Thank you so much for the needed encouragement ...it has been really draining working on the Plumbing of the tank (not to mention the million other details) so its encouraging to see you guys chime in!
My wife and I are very proud of how far we have come and how sharp it looks so far!

Thanks Again

Your almost there

Your almost there

The difference is the detail you guy's have done so much and you are almost done with the hard part. What a show piece you will have, your wife did a great job picking the location in your home too! The link didn't work to the Hydro Wizard sorry about that:) Like me you will have tons of flow but if you do think you want an MP or two do your self a favor and check HWs out first they are like the big boy 15000gph and can do way more than an MP.
Here is a couple of pics showing my color system pieces for my new build.

I will have 8 DIY reactors that are colored to match gate valves, My overflow plumbing is orange, one side close loop blue, other side green. As you know just gives everything a nice custom finished look.

Keep up the great work you two:rollface:

Love the look of your plumbing...I'd like a link to your thread as well! You've paid so much attention to detail and it shows! Also if you could give me a link to the powerhead you mentioned that would be great!

Thanks,
George

:inlove: love those colors!

Here are the Ushio 400 watt bulbs (I chose 10k for better growth...at least in the beginning)

Here are the Giesemann bulbs ....they are 5ft bulbs and are 80watts each. I'm placing 16 T-5 bulbs in total. 12 bulbs will be true actinic (purple) and 4 bulbs will be aqua pink!

And here are the Lumatek ballasts...they are supposedly dimable!

i have just caught up with this thread...looks awesome!
I have agreed with every decision you have made along the way...MH and t5 vs LED, glass vs acrylic...great stuff!
I wouldnt have sand in the QT tank though, it gives meds a place to settle and will mean that you cant clean the tank down fully between additions.

I look forward to watching your tank develop.

You have a lovely home too btw.

Wow, its looking really great. how is the aquascaping going to look, any thoughts? how about a peninsula style reef. it would really look awsome. congrats.
