Is this how your items arrive when you get them? Standard shipping damage that is to be expected? The blurry styrofoam box picture is actually a crack halfway down the box. I am extremely careful in the removal of my items but so far I am 0-2 for receiving intact shipments. If this is standard fare then I guess I know what to keep expecting, if not well that really sucks for me.

SlowCobra,

We apologize for the damage that occurred to the package during shipping. These corals are shipped in heavy duty plastic bags and dark boots, along with peanuts to help avoid damage during transit. We apologize that some of the tips appear to have broken off of the corals you received. Please PM or call us at 1-800-334-3699 so we can discuss your shipment.

That box looks like it went through some rough handling. On the bright side, it appears you have some frags for sale to your local reefers :)

Those are some really nice corals, BTW!

I've ordered several times through diver's den and the regular site and never had a box cracked, smooshed or anything damaged. Maybe bad Fedex handling? I know the guy who delivers up here tries very hard to be careful with my stuff.

While I agree that it looks as though your box has been through some rough times, I don't think the minor breakage on most of those corals (I did see a big tip off one) is really anything to worry about. Maybe a month or so's growth.

ditto, if it were me , i wouldn't even worry about it

I guess the biggest problem I see is that he is purchasing a WYSIWYG rock and when you receive it... it is no longer what you saw. But is it seems that the issue has been resolved since it has been over a week without any other complaints.

That about sums it up. :)

LA/DFS customer service can't be beat. They were nothing but respectful and courteous despite my being a difficult customer and having several complaints as well as some items that didn't survive requiring my taking them up on the 14 day guarantee.

While I obviously have had some issues I would still highly recommend that anyone interested in something from LA do not even give it a second thought to shop around. A lower price is certainly what we all want however the few extra bucks you may spend on something is worth it if a problem should arise. A no hassle guarantee is hard to find in any business... especially when dealing with live animals.

Overall satisfaction with LA for me is about 8.5/10. Considering I can be quite difficult that is a very good score. :)
