Lack of Algae?

So I know I shouldnt be complaining... But I rarely find myself cleaning algae off my tank. I have snails who should be doing some of the work but keeping the whole tank scrubbed is hard to believe. It almost makes me think im doing something wrong. I wipe my tank sides down maybe once every 2 weeks (ive seen tons of algae on tanks much younger than mine and almost got jealous). Any thoughts?

Consider yourself lucky. I think it all comes down to a balancing act. You have nutrients going in on one side (feeding, tap water) and nutrient export (CUC, skimmer, refugium) on the other. If you have excess nutrients that are not being exported you get algae. So my guess is either you are very disciplined with your feedings or have a large refugium or have an oversized skimmer or have a large CUC or some combination. Not a bad thing though. Just keep doing what you are doing. Many people strive to have an algae free tank and never get it.
