Lagoon or primarily zoanthid/soft coral tanks

I'm looking for links to pictures and info on the lagoon or reef flat biotope... Especially photos of aquariums (in addition to the TOTM) that feature species from this reef area. Any help appreciated.

Cool... Not quite a lagoon tank but nice nonetheless... Looking for small islands or rock with mostly octo, lps and a few sps type corals...

It's hard to describe without a picture, but here's what I am going for. If you look at the reef flat or back reef/lagoon type environment, you encounter LOTS of sand, a few rock islands and mostly LPS and soft coral. It has a higher nutrient load and lower flow, so although there are going to be reefbuilding corals, they are in more moderation and not as prevalent. Most tanks are reef crest or forereef environments, or else just pack as much coral and rock as you can get in... I'm looking to recreate a true lagoon type tank for the 48" square tank that I have been building since time began... It will have copius amounts of open sand, and a few rock piles with lots of open spance for swimming fish...

you can kind of get an idea from this:

I got the 45's in and it's mostly ready for epoxy... Then glass. But it's kind of cold now to do the epoxy so I'll wait until spring for that. I started this thing when Moses was a pup anyhow, so another couple seasons isn't much...

I do have to build the overflow though, and starting to think about skinning the stand. Which i recently realized I build 1 1/2 inches too large on the narrowest dimension to get through the door, so I have to turn it into a modular stand...

Ha, funny you chose that Bonsai inspired tank as an example. Before my last post I went nuts looking for that one to show you.

I love the minimalist approach to aquascaping.

For sure. Excellent links to 4 or more unbelievable awe inspiring reef tanks. For those newer reefkeepers or those new to URS, definitely check out the links!
