LAK's 15g Cube

Hey TJ I am kinda seeing what you are doing with this., but a little confused. Is the section on the right a skimmer? Obviously the one on the left is a fuge and the center is a return chamber.

I was actually assuming it was Carbon

^^^ correct.

Carbon... no skimmer on this tank. I actually had a crazy idea on the way to Lowes today, and have a new plan. ;)

YAY, good guess :D!
Can't wait to hear the idea :)

Thats one cool looking fish. Good luck with the nano. I'm tossing around the idea of setting one up myself but, I'm not sure my wife will be to happy with me if I do. She thinks we have enough saltwater in the house as it is...lol
Looking forward to seeing it come to life.

In a nano you might be better off with a smaller blennie like the bicolor super cool personallity one of my altime fave blennies

Yeah. I was thinking of getting one or the other. The info. on LA says the minimum tank size for a bicolor is 30 gallons though, but I don't know how accurate that stuf is.

Anyway, I saw a one at the LFS the other day, but TJ talked me out of getting it because it was slamming itself into rocks, which is no good I suppose.

Ii can tell you blennies do well in nanos but they can get sgressive to smaller fish that are similar in shape in nano tanks but they do well in my exp. I have two blennies in my big tank and gonna get another as soon as i find the african midas blennie

For sure!

Here's the design I'm probably going to use, or some slight variation of it. The MJ 400 will pull from the tank similar to a closed loop pump through the back wall, and feed the fuge and carbon sections. These sections will basically be set up like phosban reactors, and empty back into the return section. Then a MJ 600 will be used for circulation in the tank.

Do you think a blenny would be alright with a clown goby? I'd like to get another green and pink one. The one I had was banished to TJ's sump and then was given to Keith who also, likewise, banished him to his sump, lol.

My stocking list (I think) is going to be:

2 bangaii's
1 clown goby
1 blenny
A few tiny shrimp (sexy maybe?)

Also, I would like to get a sandsifting goby, but that might be to much...

Do you think everyone would get along if I wanted to get a sandsifter too??

i wouldnt get a sifter but a small watchman would do fine
but that would be a heavy stock ...water change water change water change
