I just realized I labeled one of the sections "Heater." The heater will actually sit vertical in one of the corners of the Skimmer section, because the water level will remain constant in that area... so there is no concern over the possibility of exposing the heating element to the air. Also, I use BeanAnimal's recommendation, and do not submerge the tops of my heaters (even the submersible ones).

looking at switching out my titanium heaters, what heaters are you using these days, and can you give some reasoning on why not to sumberge the submersible heaters.

I'm using the Blue Line Biotherm Titanium Heating Elements, and my AC3 controls them. I picked them up from www.championlighting.com

Well, my new bulb is "IN TRANSIT". That means it will get here today! I can't wait to make the switch!

That was a great idea to get the bulb before you go to Atlantic City, You may not be able to afford it when you get home from the Casino....lol

Glad to see you got your sump, another awsome creation by Deere.G. Hopefully TJ can get it hooked up before you leave.

haha, I know!!! Hopefully I at least break even.

I think we are going to work on the plumbing Wed, Thurs and Friday. I have an interview in West Virginia this afternoon, so I'll be gone all day and then TJ will be watching the hockey game tonight. We just need to get it done by the time I leave, Saturday afternoon.

Oh are WE?

My new bulb came yesterday. TJ is coming over to put it in for me. I'm really excited to see the difference! I think my tank has really been lacking sufficient lighting, so I can't wait to see it with the new light. :)

So I'm having a terribly frustrating day. I'm going through a major Ick outbreak in my tank. I had 2 clown gobies die already and I have not seen my blenny in 2 days. I just don't know what to do. I do not have a hospital tank, saltwater or freshwater at my disposal...so Im pretty much screwed. It makes me really sad that I'm losing these fish :( I would assume that having the sump up and running would make me feel alot better and help the situation out somewhat, but I can't do anything about that either. Bad bad day.

I am probs overreacting like I always do about my tank. Hopefully I have some fish pull through. They seem to be eating, so we will see.

I think that every one has "been there, done that" or at least I have on more than one occasion. Are you adding vitamins or garlic to your food?

Got the new bulb in. Everything looks nicer in just this short time. I'll post some pics soon.

Sorry to hear that you're having a bad day and hopefully like you say, you're just over-reacting. Did you make the bulb switch or did TJ stop by to help you with it? If he did pop over what is or was his reaction to your fish issue?

On a better note.....Wooo Hoooo......more pics coming.

Sorry to hear your a bit down about your tank Laura :(
But as Goodwin said, everyone goes through it... My first saltwater fish lived 3 days and I still don't know why he died...
Having the new bulb in should cheer up your spirits a bit :)
Can't wait to see the photo's :)
